Autism Awareness Day

Dear Parent/Carer,

Did you know that 1 in 100 children in Britain are diagnosed with Autism/ASD so, it is very likely that you and/or your child will know someone with Autism?

So what is Autism?

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterised by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech and non-verbal communication.

This year Autism Awareness Week is from 1st April 2019 to 7th April 2019.

As we have a number of children with ASD in our school, we will be raising awareness of Autism within our school community. We will also be raising much needed funds for The National Autistic Society.

On Tuesday 2nd April 2019 we would like your child/ren to come to school dressed in their favourite colour for a donation of £1.00.

There will also be a cake sale at the end of the day in The Den.

All the monies raised will go towards helping to create a society that works for autistic people.

Thank you for your support.
